I have an ear infection. Maybe. I also took a bath in the lake. I think I am 5 again. (Also, I almost just wrote "I feel like I am 6 again" until I realized that was actually a John Mayer lyric circa 2003).
I don't want to drive 17 hours tomorrow. I don't know if I can do it!

Home sweet Midd...
So we graduated. It was weird. And rainy, until the sun came out. But on the plus side, we got the cane that we've been waiting for for all of our four years. Right?
In my sleep-deprived state, having stayed up all night to watch the sun rise over the football field, everything was a kind of blur. It wasn't until I walked through Suite D to make sure it was all clean and locked the door on the echoing common room for the last time that it hit me. I finally realized that Middlebury College was not and would never again be my home. I cried a little as I biked down to pubsafe to turn in my key.
But then I biked into town, to my new home across from Tully and Marie's, where my parents were waiting for me with a carload of my things. Between Nicole and me, we had a messy roomful of stuff (okay, most of the mess was mine) and six or seven bags of kitchen stuff that we'd culled from various cabinets and corners of Suite D and the Italian house.
We only stayed for one night before leaving for the next two weeks (I don't actually start my internship until June 15th) but it was enough time for me to get cleaned up (or shove most of my stuff into the closet...don't tell Nicole) and kind of organized. Which was a really nice feeling.
So now when I get back to Midd to work for the Addison Independent, I have a home to go back to, my very own mattress separated by two inches from Nicole's (no spooning...unforch), no internet (summer book list, here I come!), and a kitchen where I can cook my own food.
Summer! No parents! Independence?!

Congrats?
Now that you've all gradeeated the college, you really will have to keep me updated on your shenanigans this year (don't patronize me with your Celtic slang!) I would relay spectacular and interesting news, but I really don't have any. I'm back home after a week in Seattle. I saw Star Trek in IMAX, which is the most exciting thing to report thus far. Oh yeah and good job on the graduating thing.

My First Post (And Boy is it Appropriate)
Dear Lord,
Please get me out of Club Midd. I understand that males are pigs everywhere, but this takes the cake. I just received a text message from a boy that spoke to me tonight in only the most platonic contexts. And yet, the text said:
Want to fuck
That's it. No punctuation. No lead up. No precedent. We hooked up once...months ago. Dio buono. Porca miseria. This makes me feel like a sex object. Like a piece of meat. Are there no decent guys out there for me? Apparently not.
fo. realzzzz.

So we are moving on?
To all of our dearest peeps:
This blog has been created for the express purpose of keeping in touch with each other in our postgrad adventures.
Though they have not yet started, in four days we will be flying off to various locations and starting internships, jobs, continuing education, spending stints of time in our childhood homes...all sorts of things will be done by us, and posting on this blog will allow everyone to keep very close tabs on each other...stalkers.
But seriously, you should all check this every so often and post updates. It'll be great.
